About ReBOTTLE

The

Beginning

ReBOTTLE was born in 2016 in Alentejo, Portugal by Shani Almagor.
After moving to Portugal, I became deeply
fascinated by cork — a remarkable natural material with unique qualities. As I explored its potential, I met António, a local artisan with exceptional skill and deep knowledge of traditional cork techniques. That meeting marked the true beginning of ReBOTTLE. António invited me into his studio, and together we began a designer–maker collaboration built on experimentation, dialogue, and mutual respect. Our goal was clear: to create functional, everyday products that combine modern design, natural materials, and local
craftsmanship.

The

First Bottle

Our first creation was a single bottle — a premium-quality, reusable, insulated stainless-steel water bottle wrapped in
natural cork. Each piece is unique, shaped by the organic textures and patterns of the cork itself.
The response was immediate. Encouraged by the connection people felt to the product, we continued producing. What began as one piece evolved naturally into a growing collection — and eventually, into a brand.
Today, more than a decade later, ReBOTTLE bottles are enjoyed by people around the world. Each one carries the story of
its origin: a collaboration between designer and maker, nature and function, tradition and innovation.

OUR

Studio

Our studio is managed by Luis Vaz, who oversees all operations — from laser engraving to stock management, order preparation, and worldwide shipping. We pack every product ourselves with great care and intention. Wrapped within each package is also our hope for a sustainable, healthy, and respectful future for our planet and all its inhabitants.

ReBOTTLE packaging is plastic-free, and we are committed to zero waste. There is practically no waste involved in the cork harvesting process, and any waste that does exist is 100% organic and compostable.

OUR

Mission

We made it our mission to encourage the reduction of single-use plastic and offer durable, reusable alternatives that leave a minimal ecological footprint while supporting the local economy here in Portugal. We create sustainable and stylish products for everyday life — re-embracing tradition and premium quality with new, practical design.

WHY

Cork Matters

The cork industry is considered highly sustainable. The trees are not cut down but continue to prosper, regenerate their bark, and act as a green lung for the planet. Harvesting is done by hand, without polluting machinery, and has very low environmental impact.
Cork is a renewable resource that embodies everything we believe in: respect for nature, traditional craftsmanship, and conscious production. Beyond its sustainability, cork is naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic — the perfect material for products that touch your daily life.

What

We Believe

We believe that sustainability comes first.

A sustainable life is about mutual support and harmony — conscious awareness of the impact we make on our environment. A sustainable business is one that sustains the livelihood of its owners, provides fair working conditions, avoids harm, and aspires to make good. It should evolve in a conscious and organic way, placing sustainable principles before profit or growth.

This is the foundation upon which ReBOTTLE stands.
